Screening Early, Saving Lives: Pecan Energies’ Commitment to Employee Wellbeing

In a heartwarming demonstration of unity and care, Pecan Energies recently organized a joint breast cancer awareness event, connecting staff in both Oslo and Ghana under the theme “Screen Early, Save Lives.” This initiative drives home the critical message that early detection is key to reducing the risks associated with breast cancer. It is part of a series of activities at Pecan Energies to mark Breast Cancer Awareness Month.

Led by Dr. Vanessa Kabu Mensah, the session provided essential information on the life-saving potential of early screenings, with statistics showing a 90% survival rate when breast cancer is detected early. The highlight of the event was the moving testimony of breast cancer survivor Georgina Dzagah, who courageously shared her story, saying, “Early detection saved my life; it can save yours too.”

In Ghana, the event took on a practical turn as Nurses Joyce and Georgina conducted on-site screenings for employees, encouraging a proactive approach to health. Many staff members participated, drawing inspiration from the session. “The survivor’s story encouraged me to prioritize my health,” shared Gifty Kwofie, echoing the sentiments of others who left the event more aware and motivated.

Pecan Energies remains dedicated to promoting health awareness and ensuring the well-being of its staff. Through initiatives like this, the company is not only fostering a healthier workplace but also contributing to a sustainable future where health and prosperity go hand in hand.
