Pecan Announces New Group CEO

Pecan Energies is happy to announce that its Senior Vice President, Subsurface and Drilling & Wells, Ifor Roberts, is assuming a new role as the company’s Acting Group Chief Executive Officer.
Mr. Roberts succeeds Eiliv Gjesdal, who has moved on to pursue new endeavours. We thank Mr. Gjesdal for his contributions to Pecan Energies and wish him well in his future pursuits.
Mr. Roberts has been a member of Pecan Energies’ Executive Management Team since its inception in 2018.
He brings more than 30 years of experience in the oil and gas industry, having worked across exploration, appraisal, field development, operations, and business development. His career includes lead roles with Amoco, BP, Elf (now Total), Aker BP, and Aker Energy.

Mr. Ifor Roberts is the Acting Group Chief Executive Officer of Pecan Energies. He comes from his role as Senior Vice President, Subsurface and Drilling & Wells, and has been a member of the Pecan Energies Executive Management Team since the company’s inception in 2018.
He has held several senior leadership roles within the ultra-deepwater DWT/CTP licence and was subsurface lead for the first well drilled by Pecan Energies in Ghana—the successful Pecan-4A well—which proved an additional 100 million barrels of recoverable resources for the Pecan field.
Ifor has more than 30 years’ experience in the offshore oil and gas industry. He has managed multidisciplinary teams and brings expertise spanning exploration, appraisal, field development, operations, and business development. His career includes lead roles with international oil companies including Amoco, BP, Elf (now Total), Aker BP, and Aker Energy.
He holds an MSc in Petroleum Engineering from the Norwegian University of Science and Technology (NTNU) and is a British and Norwegian citizen.
